February Retreat in Barcelona: Zen Meditation, Zazen
The Zen Kannon Center in Barcelona is organizing a Zen meditation retreat, Zazen, this upcoming February. Zazenkai is an opportunity to deepen your Zazen practice (seated meditation) in a calm and harmonious environment. The retreat is open to participants of all levels, from beginners in Zen to more experienced practitioners.
What is a meditation retreat?
In a meditation retreat like the one in February, you will engage in intensive Zazen practice, with guided sessions to connect with the present. You will also listen to teachings in the form of Dharma talks delivered by the Zen master, focusing on Zen philosophy and practice. Discover the power of ceremonies by participating in traditional Zen rituals. Kinhin, walking meditation, complements the seated meditation. You will also have the opportunity to prepare and later enjoy the traditional rice soup, Guenmai.
Why join a Zen meditation retreat?
Participating in a Zen meditation retreat can have a profound impact on your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Meditation practice helps calm the mind and reduce accumulated tension, such as stress and anxiety. Meditation and silence train mindfulness, leading to greater mental clarity. Learn to live consciously and enjoy the “here and now.” The retreat provides a safe space for introspection and the discovery of new perspectives. Zen practice fosters a profound sense of peace and well-being.
Zen practice at the February silent retreat in Barcelona
Zen emphasizes direct practice and personal experience rather than intellectual concepts or doctrines. Zen invites us to eliminate unnecessary distractions and value simplicity. Living mindfully is essential to experiencing the present moment without distractions. Everything is interconnected, and this understanding helps develop compassion and empathy. In silence, we find answers and a deeper connection with ourselves and the universe.
