Zen Action: Open-Air Meditation

After the positive experience of celebrating the World Meditation Day, Zen Kannon proposes a new open-air meditation. An activity open to everyone, offering a space to share silence, presence, and connection with nature in the city.

We will meet at the center and walk together to a nearby park, where we will practice sitting on the ground on a cushion or zafu. The meditation will be held in a simple and accessible format, faithful to the spirit of zazen and open both to beginners and experienced practitioners.

Meditating in a city park

Meditating outdoors invites us to open our practice to the surrounding environment, in the midst of everyday city life. We breathe fresher air and listen to the sounds of nature and the city. All of this can help us enter silence and awareness in an immediate and natural way. Interaction with the environment—the gentle wind, birds, moving leaves—is not a distraction, but a gateway to learning how to be present with everything that is.

Outdoor meditation, in a park, next to a tree, or in contact with the earth, is a way of bringing zazen into daily life and discovering that practice is not limited to our cushion, but can be as vast as the world around us.

11:00 a.m. – Start of the open-air meditation.
