Meditation for Peace: A Collective Action of Presence and Hope
On May 25th, 2025, the Zen Kannon community gathered as part of the Festa Major of the neighborhood Dreta de l’Eixample in Barcelona to hold a Meditation for Peace—an open event that transformed Girona Street into a space of silence, awareness, and shared compassion.
Peace is Within
Accompanied by the silence of the city and the presence of neighbors, Zen practitioners, and curious passersby, we sat in zazen as a living expression of inner and collective peace. During this gathering, we recognized that peace is not merely an abstract ideal but a concrete practice that begins within each of us.

Zen in the Heart of the City
The video of the Meditation for Peace in Barcelona, available here, captures the essence of that moment: still bodies, serene faces, and an atmosphere rich with meaning. Through mindful breathing and steady posture, each participant became a silent point of light amid the city’s bustle.
Meditation for Peace in Barcelona Dedicated to War Victims
We dedicated the merits of this Meditation for Peace to the victims of war, sending them a heartfelt wish of hope and solidarity. It was a day to remember that peace is not something we ask for—it is something we practice. And meditating together, even for just a few minutes, plants real seeds of peace in the heart of the world.
Let Us Practice the Silence That Transforms
We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in the Meditation for Peace in Barcelona, and to those who joined us in spirit. We will continue walking together on the path of silence, presence, and commitment.
