Zen Certificate: Theory and Practice
The Zen Instructor study program expands upon the Zen Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor Certificate. It includes all the previous training and adds more academic content through the Zen Buddhism course, which explores the history, philosophy, and relevance of Zen in today’s society. This is complemented by the study and practice of Zen ritual, and active participation in samu — voluntary work for the community. This is the path to achieving the level of Zen Instructor.
Practice Group Leader
The purpose of this program is to equip the student not only to lead meditation sessions — as learned in the first certificate — but also to take on responsibility for a practice group, or to assume roles in Zen ritual and samu teams, with the insight and experience needed to support others in their practice.
