The Easter retreat is a Zen practice stay. This means that, in a countryside house surrounded by nature, we will dedicate ourselves to intensive Zen meditation practice, while the rest of the activities are carried out in silence and with full awareness. In this way, we harmonize the Zen mind—calm and focused—with all moments of our lives. During the Holy Week retreat, we learn to do this directly and intuitively, simply by following the practice in each moment.
Why join a Zen meditation retreat?
A meditation retreat can be an enriching and transformative experience for everyone. A Zen meditation retreat, in particular, offers a peaceful and quiet environment that can help individuals deepen their meditation practice. It provides an opportunity to spend more time devoted to meditation, free from the distractions of daily life.
Connecting with our true nature
In a Zen meditation retreat, we distance ourselves from external distractions and daily commitments. This allows us to connect with our true nature.
Exploring the mind
The meditation retreat offers the chance to explore one’s mind more deeply, observe patterns of thought and emotion, and become aware of the present moment. This introspection can lead to greater self-awareness.
Inner peace during the Easter retreat
Continuous meditation practice helps develop qualities such as inner peace, mental clarity, and deep understanding.
Living with the Sangha
The Easter retreat also provides an opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests and are on the same path. The Sangha, as this community is called, provides support and inspiration.
Reducing stress, anxiety, and depressive feelings
The intensive meditation practice during the retreat enhances the benefits of meditation, such as reducing anxiety, stress, and depressive feelings, as well as improving concentration. All participants can experience these effects.
Beginner’s mind
Each person may have different reasons for attending a Zen retreat, and the experiences can be unique to each individual. It is important to come with an open mind, without expectations, and be prepared for the opportunities and challenges that may arise during the process.
