October Zen Meditation Retreat (Urban Sesshin)

This October, the Urban Retreat (Sesshin) offers the opportunity to dedicate an intensive weekend to Zen practice while maintaining a connection with everyday life. The retreat unfolds in contemplative silence and includes seated meditation (zazen), walking meditation (kinhin), mindful work (samu), teachings from the master (Dharma), and moments of limited rest.
Although the retreat is intensive, it is also designed so that participants with little prior meditation experience can attend partially. If this is your first session, you must have previously completed an introduction to Zen with Zen Kannon to get the most out of your October retreat.
During the October Urban Retreat:
There will be silent and guided meditation practices to help maintain focus throughout the retreat. There will also be spaces for Dokusan (personal interviews with the teacher), sessions of meditation, mindful work, and opportunities to integrate full awareness into ordinary life.
Complementary workshops (Koan meditation, Dharma) require separate registration. The retreat can be attended fully or partially, depending on the participant’s availability and experience. This flexibility allows each attendee to tailor their October retreat experience.
Conditions and Recommendations
Please connect or arrive 15 minutes before the start of zazen. It is essential to have previously taken an introduction to Zen meditation with Zen Kannon. Attendance is free for Zen Kannon members (verify if this applies to you).
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, bring a meditation cushion if you have one, and bring a light lunch for Saturday during the October retreat.

12:00 – Zazen + Dokusan
13:30–17:00 – Mindfulness in Daily Life (audio sessions)

The retreat can be attended in full or partially. Please arrive or connect 15 minutes before zazen. Free for Zen Kannon members. For those joining the October retreat, full attendance is encouraged to maximize benefits.
